The inside of the apple looks over ripe, but they are not. These apples are considered “rare” and are most particular having a rich honey center that makes them look as if they are over ripe. Made in Aomori prefecture and the apple has up to 14/16 degrees of sugar content.
Komitsu apples are said to have kodama, a spirit that lives in a tree. The flesh of Komitsu is yellow with moderate acidity to sugar content and has a good balance. In texture reasonable hardness because some say due to Kodama, it is very easy to eat.
