AKRA MOREA
Extra Virgin Olive Oil. From Grove to Bottle.
One estate. Complete control.
Akra Morea is a small family producer from Monemvasia in Lakonia, southeastern Greece, dedicated exclusively to premium extra virgin olive oil.
The estate controls its groves, harvesting, milling, storage and bottling, deliberately prioritising quality over volume. Its plantings are led by Athinoelia, alongside Koroneiki and Asproelia — varieties deeply connected to this part of the Peloponnese.
Discover the Oils
Distinct expressions of Monemvasia, shaped by olive variety, harvest timing and meticulous extraction.
Precision at every stage
The details after harvest are where exceptional olive oil is won or lost.
Harvest
Fruit picked carefully by hand.
Chill
Olives transported from the groves under refrigeration.
Mill
Fruit can reach the estate mill in around 30 minutes and is pressed within three hours.
Extract
Controlled low-temperature extraction, with the producer describing 12-minute kneading at approximately 19–21°C.
Filter
Multi-stage filtration protects clarity and stability.
Protect
Stainless-steel storage and nitrogen during bottling reduce oxygen exposure.
Meet Athinoelia
Not every exceptional Greek olive oil begins with Koroneiki.
Athinoelia is the defining olive variety of Akra Morea’s Monemvasia estate and forms the majority of its plantings. Its character is complemented by Koroneiki and, in selected expressions, Asproelia.
More than flavour
Early harvesting and tightly controlled production are designed to preserve naturally occurring olive polyphenols alongside the oil’s sensory qualities.
800 years in the making
At roughly 500–550 metres above sea level, Akra Morea maintains old olive groves on rugged terrain. The estate states that its oldest olive tree is more than 800 years old.
The Legacy expression honours that inheritance through mature fruit and later harvesting, combining traditional cultivation with modern extraction.

Estate control
From grove to bottle
Private groves, estate milling, controlled storage and bottling give the producer unusual oversight of the production chain.
Quality over quantity
Small by design
Production is deliberately constrained rather than maximised, with the estate describing annual output of approximately 12,000 litres.
Monemvasia heritage
Rooted in Lakonia
Athinoelia-led groves, ancient trees and generations of Mediterranean olive-growing tradition define the estate’s identity.
