
The plum of Damascus
It is an oblong plum, with purple skin and yellow flesh and very fragrant. It is mainly cultivated in Alsace but also in Lorraine, Germany and Switzerland.
It is delicious to eat but not very juicy, therefore excellent for jams, pies, compotes, preservation in syrup and distillation.
The plum is a fruit from late summer to early autumn.
